Is Amala an healthy meal.?

I really do not need to tell us the origin of Amala just that it is a popular Yoruba delicacy enjoyed with various soups especially the one and only ewedu ati gbegiri. Amala is a meal I enjoy so much especially because I grew up in the western part of Nigeria. However, the question I began asking myself , is it healthy? let's look into it together.

Amala is dried yam which makes it rich in fiber, the ewedu is green leaves with little salt added and the gbegiri is just beans soup but we know we can't have it without the condiments which is the obe or fried stew with assorted meat or dried fish.

With this break down I think if I just cut down on the number or meat or replace it the beef with dry fish that would make it ok, I guess I will stick to my amala but don't forget to watch your portions.
